The Canadian Association for Supported Employment engaged Capacity Builders to create a nationwide plan and proposal to replicate exciting, innovative approaches in the sector. The Sectoral Initiatives Program awarded $7.5M to CASE to create The Innovation Lab. The Lab will unite partners to identify, support, test, evaluate and grow innovative workforce solutions for persons with disabilities and employers.

The Islamic Social Services Association saw the need for mental health supports for Muslims across Canada. It turned to Capacity Builders to develop a framework for collaboration across Canada to create the Institute for Muslim Mental Health – Canada.

The City of Calgary looked to Capacity Builders to create a community-wide collaboration to unite efforts among private sector, community groups and all levels of government. Working with Autism Calgary, we created the Council for Affordable Housing for Persons with Autism and Disabilities – and a number of innovative developments.

Autism Alberta asked us to write a report that summarized insights from Autism Alliance, its ground-breaking 2019 conference. A Call to Action not only guides future efforts, it gives voice to Albertans passionately connected to Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Scouts Canada was embarking on a revitalization initiative to invigorate the Scouting movement. The Alberta wing of the organization needed to decide what to do next with its many aging facilities and longtime programs across the province, all the while aligning with national changes that were underway.

Capacity Builders worked alongside Autism Calgary Association to create Meticulon which has since become its own legal entity and began successfully assessing, training and employing consultants with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Calgary.

Capacity Builders was hired by AAISA to complete a risk assessment of the organization as well as provide a guide to risk management for its member agencies.

Capacity Builders helped the Calgary Dream Centre to evaluate its programming, gain support for its ongoing operations and become a leader in addressing homelessness alongside other stakeholders.

Capacity Builders not only found many new funding sources for the CSRS, including the Calgary Herald Christmas fund, but also provided strategic direction to ensure that the board of directors, the staff and funders were all on the same page and working toward one unified vision.

Wycliffe Canada had struggled for decades to create partnerships with major donors in Canada who believed in its vision. Capacity Builders helped Wycliffe discover an innovative approach to bridge this gap, while creating a new organization to fulfill this mandate – Global PartnerLink, a $2.5 Million/year international development organization.

For over 7 years Capacity Builders oversaw the creation and implementation of Food n More, a community-wide social enterprise that brings together over 25 social agencies and community groups, the food industry and all levels of government to address a terrible problem in our community – HUNGER.
