The Calgary Dream Centre started up in 2003, with only a handful of full-time staff. Only five years later, it has become a fully-integrated community agency with over 50 staff, serving over 250 live-in clients per year. Capacity Builders helped it to evaluate its programming, gain support for its ongoing operations and become a leader in addressing homelessness alongside other stakeholders.
Only three years into its development, this shelter for men dealing with addictions problems was poised for growth. But it had some significant organizational needs that had to be addressed first. The federal government contracted Capacity Builders to assess the Dream Centre and help it discover the way forward.
