Food N More

For over 7 years Capacity Builders oversaw the creation and implementation of Food n More, a community-wide social enterprise that brings together over 25 social agencies and community groups, the food industry and all levels of government to address a terrible problem in our community – HUNGER. Bill Locke serves as the Manager of the Coalition responsible for the Food n More Project. This cross-sectoral coalition will provide joint procurement, centralized warehousing and community-wide distribution of food to vulnerable Calgarians in every neighbourhood.

Capacity Builders also liaised with multiple levels of government and secured $420,000 from The City of Calgary and $750,000 from the Province of Alberta for the initial three years of the project.
