Autism Canada
Autism Canada is a national incorporated non-profit charitable organization. It was founded in 1976 by a group of parents committed to advocacy, public education, information and referral, and support for its regional societies. ASC is growing and changing with the times and is actively encouraging and working to include people with ASD conditions so that they can be active participants not only in their own provincial or territorial autism societies but also at the national level.
Capacity Builders was brought on board to help ASC to reevaluate their mission, vision, partnerships and sustainability after having a significant government funding source withdrawn. After consultations with members across the country Capacity builders helped ASC to merge with The Autism Foundation of Canada, re-build their organization and re-engage their constituents in order to provide better services for individuals and families with Autism Spectrum Disorders across Canada.
